This policy explains how Vittam collects, uses, and protects the information you provide when using our app and services.
Last updated: September 2026 · Effective: June 2026
This Privacy Notice for VENGURLA TECH PRIVATE LIMITED ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:
Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at support@vengurlatech.com.
This summary provides key points from our privacy notice, but you can find out more details about any of these topics by clicking the link following each key point or by using our table of contents below to find the section you are looking for.
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us. We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us. Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following: • names • phone numbers • passwords and login PINs • business name and business type • business address, city, state and PIN code • email address and website (optional) • business tax and licence identifiers you choose to add to your invoices, such as GSTIN, PAN and FSSAI number (optional) • your UPI ID and UPI QR code image, if you choose to add one so your customers can pay you • your business logo and the item, menu and product photos you upload • the business records you enter, such as items, prices, stock, bills, expenses, vendor bills and credit (udhaar) entries All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
We do not process sensitive information such as racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, health data, biometric data, or genetic data. We do not collect or store card numbers, CVVs, net-banking credentials, UPI PINs, or bank passwords at any point. The business tax and licence identifiers you add to your invoices — GSTIN, PAN and FSSAI number — are stored because they are printed on GST-compliant bills. They are used for that purpose only.
In Short: Vittam stores the customer and staff details you enter, on your behalf and on your instructions. Vittam is a tool you use to run your own business, so some of the information you enter is about other people: • Customer details on bills. When you record a bill you may add a customer name and phone number. These are saved with that bill so you can look up customer history, maintain a credit (udhaar) ledger, and send the bill to that customer over WhatsApp when you ask us to. • Online store and QR order details. If you switch on your online store or table QR ordering, your customers enter their own name, phone number (which they verify with a one-time password), a delivery address if they choose delivery, and any note they add to the order. If they pay you by UPI, the transaction reference they enter is stored against the order so you can match the payment. • Staff details. If you create logins for your staff, the name and login PIN you set are stored so those people can sign in, and significant actions taken in your account are recorded in an activity log. You decide what to enter, and you are responsible for having the right to share it with us and for telling your customers and staff how their information is used. For this information we act only as a processor on your instructions: we store and process it to provide Vittam to you, and we do not use it for our own purposes, do not sell it, and do not share it with anyone for marketing.
In Short: Some information — such as your IP address, device characteristics, and activity in the app — is collected automatically when you use our Services. We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity on its own, but may include: • Device and connection information, such as your device model, operating system and version, app version, language, and whether you are online or offline. • Log and security data, such as your IP address and the browser or device identifier (user agent) recorded when you sign in. We use this to detect suspicious sign-ins, to apply rate limits against abuse, and to investigate problems. • Activity records. We keep an audit log of significant actions in your account — for example sign-ins, price changes, cancelled bills, staff changes and account deletion requests — so that you and we can see what happened and when. • A push notification token, issued by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for each device you sign in on, so that order and service notifications can be delivered to that device. We use this information to keep the Services secure and working, for troubleshooting, and for internal analysis in aggregate. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
In Short: If you switch on your online store, the photos and prices you upload are meant to be seen by your customers. The item, menu and product photos you upload, your business logo, and your UPI QR image are stored on our servers and shown inside the app, on your menu, and on your bills. If you enable your online store or table QR ordering, they are also shown on your public store page, which anyone with your store link or QR code can open — along with your business name, address, item names and prices. That is the purpose of the feature. Please do not upload images that contain personal or confidential information you would not want your customers to see. You can replace or delete any uploaded image, or switch the online store off, at any time from within the app. When you choose to send a bill to a customer over WhatsApp, that bill is published at a unique, randomly generated web link so the customer can open it without signing in. Anyone who has that exact link can view that one bill, which shows the bill contents and your business details. The link cannot be guessed and is not indexed by search engines, but please treat it like any other private link.
We do not process payments between you and your customers, and we never see or store their card or UPI credentials. Payments happen directly — in cash, or through your own UPI app using the UPI ID or QR code you configure in Vittam. For online orders we may store the UPI transaction reference your customer types in, and the payment status you or they mark, purely as part of the order record.
Vittam is built to keep working when the internet does not. Your recent business data — items, prices, bills created while offline, and similar records — is stored in a database on your own device and synced to our servers once you are back online. Your login session and PIN-related data are held in your device's secure storage. This local copy stays on the device until it has synced and you sign out or uninstall the app. On the public online store page, your customers' own browsers save their name, phone number, delivery address and a short-lived order session locally, so they do not have to type them again on their next order. Clearing the browser data removes them.
If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission: • Bluetooth, and the Location permission it requires. We request Bluetooth permissions so the app can find, pair with, and print to your thermal printer. On Android, the operating system also requires the location permission before any app is allowed to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices, so Vittam asks for it at the point where you set up a printer. We do not collect, store, or transmit your location, and Vittam has no location-based features. You can refuse or revoke this permission in your device's settings; the only thing that stops working is discovering Bluetooth printers. • Mobile Device Access. We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device's bluetooth, camera, photos and media, and other features. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings. • Camera and Photos. We request access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a picture — for example, a photo of an item or menu product, or your UPI QR code image. You pick the source (take a photo or choose an existing one) each time, and only the image you select is uploaded to our servers so it can be shown in your store, menu, and bills. We do not access your camera in the background and we do not scan or read other photos in your gallery. You can revoke camera or photo access at any time in your device's settings; the rest of the app continues to work without it. • Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features of the application(s). If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent. We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including: • To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order. • To verify your phone number. We send a one-time password over WhatsApp when you register, when you reset a forgotten PIN, and when you request deletion of your account, so that we can confirm the number belongs to you. • To provide and operate the Services you signed up for. We process the information you enter in order to create and store bills, manage items, stock and recipes, run table and kitchen orders, track expenses and vendor bills, maintain credit (udhaar) ledgers, produce reports and GST summaries, and print, share or send receipts. • To show your photos where they belong. Images you upload are processed so they can be displayed on your items, menu, bills and — if you enable it — your online store page. • To run your online store and QR ordering, if you enable them. We publish the items, prices and photos you choose, accept orders from your customers, verify the ordering customer's phone number by one-time password, and notify you when an order arrives. • To send you service-related messages. We use push notifications, WhatsApp and e-mail to tell you about incoming orders, subscription or licence expiry, and important service, update or security announcements. We do not send you marketing messages without your consent. • To deliver customer support. When you report a problem, we may access your account and its records to diagnose and fix it. • To keep the Services secure and prevent fraud and abuse. We use sign-in records, audit logs and rate limiting to detect suspicious activity and to protect your account, your data, and our systems. • To improve the Services. We review how features are used, in aggregate, to fix problems and decide what to build next. • To comply with our legal obligations. We may process and retain information where the law requires it — for example tax and accounting records — or to respond to a lawful request from an authority. We do not use your information, or the information you enter about your customers and staff, for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties. We never sell it. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information or your business data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We may need to share it in the following situations: • Vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers. We share information with companies that help us run Vittam, limited to what they need to perform their service for us and under terms that require them to protect it. These currently are: – our cloud hosting and server provider, which stores the database, the images you upload, and our server logs; – SMSala, the provider that delivers our WhatsApp messages, and through it WhatsApp / Meta. Your phone number — or, when you ask us to send a bill to a customer, that customer's phone number — and the contents of the message are shared in order to deliver a one-time password, a bill link, or a service alert; – Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging and Remote Config), which receives a push notification token and basic device and app information so that notifications and configuration settings can reach your device; – Google Fonts, from which our app and website may load fonts while running; Google receives your IP address as part of that request. • Your own customers, when you publish an online store. Anything you choose to publish — your business name and address, item names, prices and photos, and your UPI QR code — is visible to anyone who opens your store link or scans your QR code. A bill you send over WhatsApp is viewable by anyone holding that bill's unique link. • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information where we are required to by law, by a court, or by a government or regulatory authority, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public, or us. Your information is processed on servers operated for us by our hosting provider. Some of the providers listed above — in particular WhatsApp / Meta and Google — may process limited information on servers outside India, as permitted by applicable law.
In Short: We use a small amount of browser storage to keep a session working and to remember what was typed. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. Our website, our online store pages and our app do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, third-party tracking pixels, or session-recording tools. We use only what is needed to make the Services work: • On the online store and QR ordering pages, your customer's browser keeps a short-lived session token after their phone number is verified, together with the name, phone number and delivery address they entered, so they do not have to type them again for their next order. Clearing the browser data removes all of it. • In the mobile and desktop app, the equivalent session information is stored in your device's own secure storage rather than in cookies. We do not currently use cookies or similar technologies to profile you or to serve advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. In practice this means: • We keep your account, your business records, and the customer and staff details you entered for as long as your account is active. • If you ask us to delete your account, the deletion is scheduled 30 days ahead so that you have time to cancel it if you change your mind. After that window your account and its business data are erased from our active systems, and copies in routine backups age out on their normal rotation. • We may keep a limited record for longer where we have to: the fact that a deletion request was made and acted on, logs showing that a one-time password was sent, and any records that tax, GST, accounting or other laws require us to retain, or that we need to resolve a dispute, investigate fraud, or enforce our terms. • The copy of your data cached on your own device is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures. We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment. The measures we use include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all traffic between the app and our servers, storage of login PINs and passwords in hashed form rather than as plain text, signed session tokens with expiry, rate limiting on sensitive endpoints such as sign-in and one-time passwords, separation of each business's data so one account cannot read another's, restricted staff access on a need-to-know basis, and audit logging of significant account actions. You can help by choosing a PIN that is not easy to guess, not sharing it, giving staff their own logins instead of your own, and signing out on devices you no longer use.
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at support@vengurlatech.com. Vittam is a business tool, not a service for children, and we do not direct it at them, track them, or show them advertising. Please also do not enter details of a child as a customer or as a staff member in your account.
In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence. Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can: • Log in to your account settings and update your user account. • Contact us using the contact information provided. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements. If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at support@vengurlatech.com.
Every device permission Vittam uses is optional and can be withdrawn at any time in your device's settings — camera, photos and media, Bluetooth, the location permission that Android requires for Bluetooth scanning, and notifications. Withdrawing one only disables the feature that depends on it: without camera or photo access you can still add items, you simply cannot attach a picture; without Bluetooth you can still bill, you just cannot print to a Bluetooth printer.
You can export your own business data at any time from within the app — bills, item lists, expenses and reports as PDF or spreadsheet files. If you need a fuller export, write to us at support@vengurlatech.com and we will provide it in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
In Short: If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you specific rights, and we have a Grievance Officer you can write to. VENGURLA TECH PRIVATE LIMITED is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data of its registered users. For the customer and staff data that you enter into your own account, you are the Data Fiduciary and we act as a Data Processor on your instructions. Where we rely on your consent, you gave it when you registered and when you granted a device permission; where we do not, we rely on the legitimate uses permitted by the Act, such as providing the service you asked for and complying with legal obligations. As a Data Principal, you may: • ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it, and the identities of those with whom we have shared it; • ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate data — most of it you can edit yourself in the app's Settings; • ask us to erase your personal data, by submitting a request at https://vittam.vengurlatech.com/delete-account or by writing to us; • nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity; • withdraw a consent you have given, at any time and as easily as you gave it — including by revoking camera, photos, Bluetooth or notification permission in your device settings, or by asking us to stop sending you non-essential messages; and • have your grievance heard and answered by us before you approach the Data Protection Board of India. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already lawfully took place, and erasure may be limited or delayed where a law requires us to keep a record — for example GST and other tax records. We will act on a verified request within 30 days. Grievance Officer. Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
